Is it Really Over?

This past weekend the WWA Wakeboard World Championships took place, which to me kind of signifies the end of the wakeboard season. Team Liquid Force ended the season on a high note… In the Pro Men’s division, Phillip Soven placed 3rd and Shawn Watson placed 5th. Phillip, I know you wanted that World title really bad, but you can’t win every event. How many did you win this year? I think it was something like 45 out of 47 contests.. You have to let the other guys win every once in a while, we all know you are still the world’s greatest wakeboarder. Congratulations on your King of the Wake crown!!! Your next award will be the 2008 Rider of the Year award. Melissa Marquardt finished in 3rd and Shelby Kantar took the 5th spot in Pr Women, excellent job ladies!!! In the Jr. Men’s division, LF took 3 of the top 4 spots with Raphael Derome in 2nd, Harley Clifford in 3rd, and Robert “Bob” Soven in 4th. The new generation of LF rider’s is really going to take the world by storm in year’s to come. On that note, in the Jr. Boys division, which is 9 and under, LF rider Ben Watts dominated the rest of the field taking 1st place. Two up and coming Maven Ladies, Megan Blaschka and Danni Petraitis finished in 2nd and 3rd spot in Jr. Women.

Next stop, Surf Expo in Orlando. Hopefully we wont all get blown away by a hurricane.
