I AM JUST A REALLY BIG FAN OF THIS MOVIE

It isn’t every day that a movie premiers…well maybe every other day, but this one was special. We swear. With a rumored $4 million budget (although we all doubt this number) to play with, the Oakley girls team of athletes from snowboarders to skiers to surfers to wakeboarders (LF’s Amber Wing), traveled the world for more than a year filming to create one of the most beautiful women’s films to date. http://www.fuel.tv/Shantisos/blogs/view/4273?type=Blog

This weekend October 26, 2008 at the Carlsbad Lagoon, national champion Amber Wing took the Uniquely girls wakeboarding. After a morning of surfing and BBQ at the beach house in Encinitas. It was time for some more board sports.

Amber made a call to her sponsor Liquid Force and asked to use the team boat for a late afternoon shred session. As soon as she had the OK, the girls loaded up and headed for the Lagoon. The crew included skateboarder Lyn-z Adams Hawkins, skiers Angeli VanLaanen, Kristi Leskinen and Grete Eliassen, snowboarder Silvia Mittermuller, and snowboard photographer Ashley Barker.

The group was stoked to see what Amber had in her bag of tricks and excited to wakesurf and wakeboard themselves. The coolest part of the Uniquely premier weekend has been the friendship and stoke between the girls. Catching up from the year’s travels for old pals and a chance to start some new life long friendships as well.

It had been 2 months since Amber rode her wakeboard due to a slight knee injury and you could tell she was in top form. Starting off with some stylish tail grabs, half cab indy, off axis toeside 360 nose grabs, and the ultimate crowd pleaser, the superwoman to fakie.

Then it was time for other girls to get some wakeboard and wakesurf turns in. With no wind and a warm sun above our heads. The session was fun for all. Watching Kristi throw down some huge inverted airs, and Silvia just couldn’t get enough of the wakesurfing. Everyone was smiling from ear to ear.

Thanks to Liquid Force, and the entire crew at the Carlsbad Lagoon for hooking up the Uniquely girls with a day in the boat.

So Shelby Kantar has pretty much been kicking a$$ this year. Whether it be contests, free riding, or just being Miss Kantar, she pretty much rules at all of them. She just returned from Singapore for an IWSF event where she placed 1st in the rail event and 2nd in the behind the boat event. Not only did she get a 1st and 2nd place, but she did it with a broken finger. Next stop for Shelby is Doha, Qatar Nov. 11th - 17th, from there she is hitting the slopes for the winter. Here is a brief photo gallery from Shelby. Oh, and word on the streets is she moonlights as the Dark Knight on occasion.

The winner is Blake Ernst,who won Keith Lyman’s actual board that was singed by the man himself. That man happens to be the guy on the right LF team rider Keith Lyman. Over all the event was a huge success every one that came had a great time. The guys at California water sports mentioned that it was the best event they ever had. Keith was a real sport and wore a Captain America suite when he rode. over all everyone had a good time, and that’s what its all about.
