Tom Fooshee wins in Turkey!

24 hours of straight traveling from San Marcos TX, to Bursa Turkey was worth the wait for the 2009 Sukay Park world trophy. With over $40,000 up for grabs, this event in Turkey was one of the finest. An international trip to the middle east for 4 days was a lot of fun and a lot of travel. Making the trip to Bursa requires all the different types of methods of transportation. Air travel from the U.S. to Turkey, Bus travel from Istanbul (capital of Turkey) to the Marmara sea, Ferry across the sea and then you reach the beautiful city of Bursa. The city owned cable park was one of the nicest parks I have ever seen. The cable included an underground marble tunnel underneath the cable, butter water and 360 degree scenic views. My fellow friend Keith Lidberg and I were there to represent the U.S. against Britain’s finest Nick Davies, James Young (LF England Rider), Ck Koester and some of the other most well known cable riders in the world from 8 different nations. 6000 plus spectators showed up to watch the competition as the weather started out perfect and warm and then shifted into some rain. Everybody rode to well to put on such a great show for the finals. I was lucky enough to land the 1st place spot for the event earning a victory for which the next day was my 25th birthday (which was a 30 hour long birthday that was spent mostly in a plane and in a few different aiports). Thanks to everyone that made the event happen, it was a short but great time!
