Henshaw Rail Day at East Coast Wake Park

The Henshaw rail event at the East Coast Wake Park this past weekend was a fantastic success. Four days of rain stopped promptly at 8am on Saturday morning, making for a dry day with 70 degree weather. The rail was amazing. The finished product was an 80 ft long stepped up A-frame, with a 32 ft x 10 ft wall ride. Henny was stoked, as was the crowd of 200+ spectators and riders that came out to the park to ride, and watch Kevin shred his new rail design. Most riders jumped at the chance to demo the new Liquid Force FLX and Watson Hybrid boards, which were in constant demand all day long. Monster Energy brought out the Monster girls and plenty of free refreshment, and Pro Tec and Nike 6.0 provided a slew of helmets and shoes for a raffle to help support the park. On Friday evening prior to the event, Kevin signed autographs and talked to fans at the Overton’s retail store in Greenville. In the end, despite some rail construction challenges late in the week due to the weather, the final product is likely the largest, most technical and most fun rail in the region. Thanks to the East Coast Wake Park, Overtons, and Chris and Stacey Hopf for their great hospitality, as well as to everyone who turned out to ride and enjoy the day on Saturday. And, huge props go out to Chris, Geoffrey Barnes, Fields Johnson, and Justin Lambert for providing their labor on the rail construction, and their non-stop comedy to keep us completely entertained!
