Happy hangover Tuesday!
Hope the long weekend was a fun one this past weekend. I would say that Labor Day weekend is the close of summer, but the start of the best season of the year, fall! Fall is great because the lakes are less busy, the water is calm, its still warm, it’s the best season of the year to ride!
Its hangover Tuesday for a reason, and that’s for those of us up at Red Bull Wake the City in Milwaukee. Man this event was all time! Seriously, venue was insane and huge, crowds were out, weather was hot and of course the athletes put on such an insane show! To no surprise though, Gavin Stuckey took home the gold with his brother as his teammate. And what a special moment it was for him. His parents were both there working the event, so they got the best seat in the house to watch their kids take home the gold. Gavin apparently loved putting pressure on himself, by falling in the opening round early on leaving him one shot to make it to make it to the next round, and go figure, he laced it from there on out. Goes to show you how resilient he is and how high his wakeboard IQ is. Right next to him on the podium in silver was Guenther Oka and Frontline’s Nils Ritzmann. These 2 boys were definitely the most dialed in all day long, and by that I mean they had the least amount of slip ups out of any team, just on it all weekend long!
Women’s continued to see the “Relentless Domination” just like the men. Claudia Pagnini took home the gold and damn her and her teammate’s run was insane! Seriously Claudia’s could at least of made semi finals if not further in men’s. Only one to flip onto the pipe hack. On one side of her sat Rivers and Meagan in 3rd. These two have been on the podium at every single event and kept the good vibes going. Still peaking over Rivers T2B into the bank on the middle feature!
Let’s cross over the pond to the IWWF European Boat Championships.
Our girl Sanne Meijer had really focused in on boat with her trainings over the past few weeks and it paid off, big time!
She scored gold!
Insane!
And the podium was entirely LF with Alice and Chiara Virag in 2nd and 3rd.
So stoked on all these ladies as they not only slayed it all weekend, but they also have been working so hard all season long.
Congrats girls!
Lastly, Loic Deschaux came out and ripped it so hard at Back to School Jam out at Totem Wake Park in France.
Loic made it obvious he won the event by putting down a perfect ts bs 10 amongst everything else he laid down.
Up next for Loic is IWWF worlds, so best of luck to him there!
RELENTLESS DOMINATION weekend after weekend after weekend and this past weekend was one for the books! Congrats to our stellar team on everything they put down.
Til the next episode,
