One of my best moments on my wakeboard would have to be July 17th, 2018 – that day I did my first double flip. It was crazy because that trick was one of the hardest things for me to get over mentally. I had so much fear and had wanted to try them for years, when I landed, it was like a movie to me. I was riding with Watson and Grubb, two legends of the sport and I stomped it my 4th attempt ! It was a crazy moment I will never forget, to go from watching those boys to riding with them!
What lessons has wakeboarding taught you?Wakeboarding has taught me a lot of things, both about being an athlete and being a person. One thing it has taught me is self-confidence and positivity. I remember the days I used to get so mad with myself, with wakeboarding, or because I was scared to try a trick, or something would not be working. I learned that if you have no doubts in your mind and set goals and believe you can do it , even if it’s the craziest thing in the world, you can accomplish it because nothing is more powerful than self believe.
What does it mean to ride for LF?Riding for LF is pretty crazy when I think about it. When I first got into the sport and learned about the industry I had always wanted to be on Liquid Force. They had the dopest team and sickest boards with unreal graphics, and it’s an honor to be able to ride for them. I remember the day I got picked up by them, I didn’t believe that Liquid Force wanted me on the team and that gave me a boost ..Almost like, Luca they wanted you on the team for a reason, they see something in you, let’s show them you’re not here to play around.
Who or what inspires you?I get inspired by so many people and things around me I would fill the whole website if I listed them all. At this moment in time I honestly think it would have to be my parents. Growing up you take things for granted and I see now that I’m older, what they have done for me and given me the opportunities of a lifetime. My mum and dad have been through a lot and I’m not just talking about having me as a kid ! My dad works so hard, wakes up every morning at 4:30am out the door at 5 and never complains. My mum, she is always on top of everything, without her I would not be where I am right now. She saves my ass all the time with so many things! I just hope that I can give the same opportunities to my children as they have given me !! Honestly P&P if you’re reading this, your guys are bloody superhero’s!
What do you think you are doing too much of or too little of because of wakeboarding? That’s a hard question to answer… Honestly, wakeboarding has allowed me to do so many things that I would never have dreamed of if I was still in the UK. Obviously living in the U.S takes me away from my family and I feel I do miss out when they are doing cool things, but as far as too much of, I think that would probably be spending way too much time at gas stations filling up jerry cans !! Apart from that I couldn’t say anything else, I’m on a good path right now and don’t think I need to worry!
