NICO VON LERCHENFELD
What was one of the best moments on your wakeboard?
One of the best moments was when I won Wake The Line 2011 just after I tore my Meniscus and doctors said I could not ride. I remember my knee felt pretty bad before, but I pulled through and got a W in Germany in front of a local crowd. That was pretty big to me.
What lessons has wakeboarding taught you?
Wakeboarding has taught me resilience. Especially my knee-injuries, which felt like they just would come hit me again and again (and still might do today) It made me work out a lot of things physically and mentally and made me always get up again.
What does it mean to ride for LF?
All my wakeboarding is based on LF. I am so grateful for their continued support. It’s funny, but it feels like I have grown up together with the brand.
Who or what inspires you?
I draw inspiration from outstanding personalities, whether it be athletes or philosophers or entrepreneurs. I guess mostly athletes who are both philosophers and entrepreneurs, too. haha, Like Kelly Slater, John Florence, Travis Rice, Jeremy Jones, Elias Elhart, Eric Koston, …
What do you think you are doing too much of or too little of because of wakeboarding?
I think no matter if I was wakeboarding or not, I always tend to put too much on my plate.
