All Star Relentless Domination Weekend

Howdy LF’ers!

Well this past weekend might have been the most heavy hitting, slam dunking, relentless dominating weekend possibly of all time in my 18 year span at LF.   Fair warning, this one is a long one.  Why do you ask?  Well not only was there a lot that went down, but I am so damn proud of our team and what they have done this past weekend (and of course all year long too) that I gotta go on a bragging session for them all.  Seriously our team destroyed it this past weekend at the two biggest events of the year, the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Gold Coast Wake Park – Gold Coast Australia – site of the WWA Wake Park World Championships.  Our team owned it!  Seriously that’s not being cocky, they really did all across the board in all pro divisions.  So let’s get started.

The two females that have relentlessly dominated park events all season long, Claudia Pagnini and Rivers Hedrick showed up in GC and cleaned house.  Rivers took home gold in features only and Claudia took home bronze.  And in park (aka traditional), Claudia took home gold and Rivers took home Silver!  So yea cleaning up on the podium for our ladies.  Congrats Claudia and Rivers!

Pro men featured our not so rookie Gavin Stuckey taking gold in park!  And when I say relentless domination, I mean it because Busty Dunn was right next to him with a silver finish and then frontline’s top face, Rudy Talboys in 3rd!  Congrats boys as it was an all LF park podium!

Gavin was the man of the weekend though as he took on the gold in pro sk8 too!  And our own Kai Ditsch in silver right next to him!  Both boys on a Tao killing it!  I had the honor to chop it up with both Kai and Gavin a few weeks back at WTC about wakeskate at worlds and it was so rad seeing how stoked they were on it.  Congrats boys!

And the last of the pro divisions was pro men’s features and 7 out of the 8 finalists were LF athletes, so this is exactly what I mean when I relentlessly say RELENTLESS DOMINATION!  The podium finished out with Joe Battleday in 2ndand Gavin in 3rd!  So, congrats again to all our pro athletes showing up at WWA Wake Park Worlds.

I would like to give one more shout out from this event with one of our faces from our new future series boards is Cruze E-Boi not only taking home the gold in >10 boys features, but also stomping a massive double cabby which looked unreal!  Peep it on his and our social media!

After worlds, but in conjunction with WWA Boat and Park Worlds was the Australian Wake Awards.  And to me, this was a no brainer, a unanimous decision, but Australian rider of the year went to Sam Brown!  So well deserved Sam!  Congrats!

Now onto the other world championships, the IWWF World Championships at Le Kable in Paris France.  I can’t stop saying this because it’s so true, but LF owned it in Pro Men and Pro Women.  This featured our own Loic Deschaux as the IWWF Gold Medal Winner in pro men’s!  After battling injuries for the past 2 years, Loic is back and is the 2024 world champ!  Congrats Loic!

And it doesn’t stop there, our Dutch all terrain female athlete Sanne Mejier is the new IWWF World Champ!  A big highlight from what I saw was a sick bs 5 into the bank at the park that helped her win the title!  Congrats Sanne!  Stoked to see all the hard work pay off!

And lastly, I will leave you with something a bit different, but something to get fired up on.  Forbes just released a wakesurfing/boating an article that featured several LF products.  And of course you cannot do a wakesurfing article on Forbes without our superstar Bailey Dunn featured in it.  Bailey has loads of coverage as she got to go out with the contributing writer and his family and help coach them on their Wakefoamie Fish and Twinzer.  The article attached below, also features our Spector vest, a CGA Heartbreaker vest and our 9” ultra suede surf rope.   Give it a read and learn more about Bailey and a new Wakesurfing family!

That’s it for now.  WWA Wake Park Worlds is still happening and then WWA Wakeboard (boat) worlds is later this week/weekend, so stay tuned for next week as I anticipate another heavy round.  Congrats again to all our athletes on such a Relentless Dominating weekend!

Til the next episode!
