Oui LF’ers!
The season’s first major event went down over the weekend and into today. We are talking about Moomba Masters. Pretty much almost everyone one of you are already familiar with the event, but in case you are not, here is a small briefing. Moomba Masters is Australia’s premier and most prestigious watersports event. It combines wakeboarding and 3 event waterskiing and is held right on the river in downtown Melbourne. It is a venue like none other and the shorelines are always packed with spectators. Yours truly has ridden in it before, so I can personally attest that it is one of the best boat events in wake! So here we are now officially with the first event of the 2025 WWA NWS underway and done.
Moomba featured heaps of LF riders including Luca Kidd, Sam Brown, Zahra Kell, Euge de Armas, Stefano Comollo, Daniel Johnson, Frederico Dal Lago (Nano), and Jesse Mason. So you know LF was vibing out during the event.
And you already know our team held it down and featured an LF rider on every single wakeboard podium. So let’s dive in with the ladies up first. Doing my best Dano impression, we have 3 time, 3 time, 3 time back to back to back Moomba champion Zahra Kell with a stand up run scoring her a gold medal! And right by her side in 3rd place was Euge de Armas. Congrats girls, such a killer showing!
On the Pro Men’s side of things, we saw Unity Sam Brown lace a perfect nose skeez 7 that was backed up by a double cabby to land him a bronze. Killer way to start the season, congrats Sammy!
Even on the Jr. Pro Men and Jr. Pro Women we saw LF on the podium. Italy’s Matteo Molinari pulled in a bronze medal and in Jr. Pro Women’s Demi Micallef got herself a silver. Congrats to the future of wake!
It was a very successful weekend down in Melbourne and one last congrats to everyone that rode in the event and found their way to the podium.
Til the next episode,
